After Charlie Kirk was murdered, lots of Dems immediately condemned it, said it was wrong, etc. Admittedly, not all, and some AH's even celebrated, but most run-of-the-mill Dems were appalled. Everyone I knew was.
I have yet to hear a single MAGA supporter say that this, or the shooting if Renee Good, was wrong. Not one..not publicly, and none of the MAGA people I know.
To me, it shows this - Dems are still capable of exercising independent thought and critical reasoning. Yes, they abhorred what Charlie Kirk stood for, but they also thought it was wrong to murder him. Both things could exist at the same time.
MAGA genuinely does not seem capable of that level of independent thought. It should not be hard for someone to watch these videos and say, "yes, this was messed up." It doesn't have to mean you don't support Trump. Just acknowledging that what happened in this instance was not ok. But they can't, no matter how plain the evidence. It's like their brains are literally not able to disagree with their leader. It's both sad and scary. And I genuinely don't know how we as a country recover and get back to normal function ever again.
Well, I voted for Trump twice. I didn't really vote for him as much as I voted against Clinton and Harris.
The Good shooting was a bad shooting. Didn't have to happen. He could have moved.
The Pretti shooting is bad because it was a mistake. I don't belive they wanted to shoot him. They were trying to subdue him, "Gun" was yelled and was present, Gray coat runs away with it and accidentally discharges it. That shot prompts the agents to open up.
All of it was wrong, but heres the thing. Good and Pretti were both absolute idiots inviting disaster. None of this would have happened if they didnt insert themselves.
This will continuwe to happen. There will be more. The choice is up to the protestors. ICE isnt going anywhere.
If we can't exercise our Constitutional rights without fear of the the government killing us for doing so, we don't actually have those rights.
Amen. People like PP think cold blooded murder of peaceful protesters is okay. It goes against everything this country used to stand for.
They will rationalize this awful behavior to not have to admit who and what they are continuing to support.
Uhhh, I 100% support the collection and deportation of people that aren't supposed to be here. Make no mistake there. To be clear- you think Laken Riley's killer should have been here?
This ICE invasion is barely even about Immigration anymore. It’s about constitutional rights and those rights being pushed to the absolute limits.
+1 and Trump fan Erick Erickson agrees.
“A lot of what is happening now is Kristi Noem marginalized Tom Homan and the head of Border Patrol because those two prioritized deportations of criminals and gang members. Noem and Corey Lewandowski wanted broad, public round-ups without prioritizing the illegal aliens. They have bypassed Homan and the head of Border Patrol and elevated Greg Bovino because they want the public confrontations and displays. And that's not the progressive press reporting this. Correct. The gun fires. You can clearly see the slide move and gray coat get startled.
This brings up a qhole other point most non gun owners don't even know about. Pretti had a round chambered (ready to fire, bypassing the need to rack a round it) In the gun world this is called carrying 'hot' and is extremely dangerous. Because Sigs often misfire. Like it did exactly here.
