None of the people are stupid anymore than those who strive to go to space.
Just because you would never do it, doesn’t mean others shouldn’t!
I hope they rose to the surface and just haven’t been found yet.
These guys weren't inventors. They were tourists.
It's not even like Everest, where people have to train and be fit beyond imagining. These people just wrote a check.
False. They were Mission Specialists.
Without their participation, this scientific venture would not have moved forward.
People in this area claim to be in favor of Science, but when the rubber meets the road, it is all “hurr durr! They were privileged billionaires. Their fee for this trip would have been better spent on Teslas for the unhoused”

Those onboard knew the risks and chose them, although my head hurts for the son who may not have had enough life experience or frontal cortex development to make a truly informed decision. In any event, I can hope the surviving relatives and friends find peace in the coming days and months.

I hope they had a stellar view of the Titanic as they sat there. At least get their moneys worth of view time.

If you were to conflate the struggles of life inside of a 3 br ranch house in Arlington near a strip mall with being bolted into a metal tube slowly suffocating, crouched in bodily fluids, then yes
Both are suffocatingly depressing and pointless
Very disrespectful. The occupants of Titan would have given a lot to be you.

The submersible sank like a stone in the ocean (literally) from a specific location. Obviously, it is on the ocean floor at or very near to that exact spot.
I wondered the same thing.
Did someone want one or more of these people dead? If so, quite a way to do it.

Why risk the backyard junk rigged sub?
There was an expert on the news this morning talking about how bad it would be for them if they were on the surface since they aren't strapped in they'd be rolling and bouncing around non stop as would all the waste products (urine feces vomit).
The more I hear about the guy and all the safety things he flouted, the more I'm convinced he was a sociopath.

And yet...the people on board the submarine aren't the ones making tasteless jokes about people who are probably dead.
Idk you couldn't pay ME $250k to get on that thing but I also think they're human beings with loved ones.

The airplane pilot, Pakistani businessman, and his son were tourists. The CEO and Titanic expert were scientists/experts/explorers or whatever.

Maybe then this circus can die down. There was never any hope of rescue so wall to wall coverage if this for 4 straight days was getting crazy. Once the official limits of oxygen capacity have been surpassed the story can die.
You must be new to these things. Media won’t let this stop their ratings are sky high. It will turn to what we can expect when oxygen runs out (with diagrams) and hypotheticals.
CO2 levels inside 22ft vessel will act like a 'sedative' that suffocates the five missing adventurers in their sleep - but hypothermia could SAVE them.
