Completely agree. I worked with him years ago and he was honestly lovely, very smart and capable. But no chance I will vote for him because we cannot go backwards in VA. We have made too much progress to turn back to debating bathroom bills and heartbeat bills. No thanks.

Well, the FCPS School Board composed entirely of Democrats totally ignores the basics but we have an endless series of schools teed up for renaming, including schools that aren't even named after Confederate generals, just multi-generational families that included Confederate soldiers. It's wasteful BS and if Youngkin can appoint VDOE leaders who start to focus on education again that would be progress.

so we're down to school naming issues as the wedge issue- good luck with that.

The converse of calling something a wedge issue for R’s is acknowledging that D’s fixate on these trivial issues in a transparent effort to suck up to certain constituencies and suggest they care a lot about equity while actually making other decisions that benefit their own circle.

I have a problem the way they are implementing it, putting 4 years worth into 3. It could work as an advanced track. When they say it is the regular track, it means the classes are watered down, and the advanced kids are missing out.

How would they be "missing out"?

Here was an example of an accelerated path that school systems could implement. Kid finishes Essential Concepts III in 9th grade. Then take pre-calc and two other advanced math courses. How is that kid "missing out"?
