Agree with PP, wins and losses are not the primary objective. If so, my DD's Capital team would not have been invited back year after year. Historically her teams did not perform well in terms of wins and losses at this event.
G8 is a good recruiting event like LLL, LFC and MA. Even Capital Cup gets the same caliber of college coaches to attend. All provide great exposure. G8 is not intended to be a collection of the top elite teams from top to bottom. It's a more intimate event for regularly invited clubs to showcase in front of college coaches. My DD has enjoyed the event, but the better teams do attend MA.

Np, I suspect the G8 includes the teams with the best recruiting track records (absent M&D, and they chose not to attend), and that’s a bit of self perpetuating group given the number and caliber of coaches at g8 and the small number of games going on at a time.
Also talking about wins or losses is a bit deceptive. The better question is where the the teams are generally competitive, I.e. losing close games or being blown out. College coaches don’t actually care about wins and losses if both teams are roughly at the same level and playing a competitive game.

For the PP, can you explain why the G8 does not invite the top 20 teams if this is supposed to be the best tournament? Also, should teams who repeatedly perform poorly at this tournament be invited back? If the A teams from a club's three high school age groups collectively win 4 of 15 games should they be invited back next year if this is supposed to be a tournament for only the best teams? Or is this exclusive invitation only event simply invitations extended to the same teams year in and out regardless of prior years performance?

M&D never intended to play G8 this year. We were never scheduled to be in it. They didn't pull out last minute. Believe me, a lot of parents aren't happy with CR about it. -M&D Dad.

Lol, thanks for the laugh. Those teams they are celebrating beat a bunch of lower level clubs and not 1 top 10 club. They can spin their capionships however they want but besting up on lower competition isn't much to brag about.
As for best programs, they can't even communicate in an efficient manner. Their HS girls are all trying out for other clubs and the younger age groups are also looking at other options.
Lots of Pride girls club shopping this year...

Well, if the goal is to get recruited, those 22s/23s at the G8 were in front of 140 coaches all at one spot this weekend. If your goal is to post on an anonymous board and win minor tournaments, the G8 is probably not for you.

The 23s are the focus of college coaches right now, so having the two classes together is not a necessity. Agree with the one poster, the G8 invitations are based more on a history of being invited, not invitations to the current top teams. If you looked at the performance of some clubs in the G8 over the past several years, if this were truly an elite event for the best teams these clubs would not be invited back. Guess every tournament needs a few punching bags though.

But only at G8 can you watch many of the top 2022s and 2023s all at one location - as was the case Saturday. Mid Atlantic splits between locations.
