ummm, you are clearly wrong about affording the house. Husband was dirt poor with a single mom working 3 jobs in the midwest and my parents were barely middle class.

GRIT and HARDWORK with intelligence and talent are why we now own 2 homes in the best zipcodes in the DMV.

We wouldn't have had Obama or Bill Clinton if family of origin were what it takes to make it in this Country.

We have experienced being vetted and told kid has a spot on a team, very impressed and kid is clearly better than kids practicing with only to have roster changes to allow for suck ups and @ss kisser and donors.

Soccer in the dmv is never solely about merit and performance.

You need a non-team sport that is decided by a clock for that ...like track or swimming.

If you cant play he doesnt want them. This extends all the way up to board members and their kids who find themselves in short order on his teams going from full game playing time to last one off the bench. OMG. Yes. We have one dad that is constantly bragging about playing soccer with all of the Coaches at the Club. Frankly, as a woman, I could beat him 1v1 any day of the week and played at a much higher level and in middle age I am in much better shape than him .

There is a TON of *ss-kissing that goes on in those leagues with parent players. However, I have yet to see it translated to their kids advancing--at least in the older age groups.

I'm glad to hear it doesn't translate to anything in the older age groups.
