OP STILL hasn't answered how her husband's employer was able to procure a visa to bring the nanny to the US.

My guess is that OP and her husband are long-term diplomats. There have been several diplomats that have gotten in trouble for bringing their nannies to the US and paying them barely anything.

This is so offensive. Nanny is part of the family. We helped her and her family in so many ways. We brought her whole family (husband and kids) to the uS. Gave them all a place to live, helped with college applications, fees, etc. You have no clue

OP has moved this "nanny" from Europe, where the nanny worked for her parents, and shipped her to the US, trading her around. This is borderline trafficking. You're not saving the nanny from anything. You are taking extreme advantage of an entire family because you have more money. Absolutely and totally disgusting. Shame on your soul.

How is the nanny's mom doing? I'm worried. Hospitals will pull that on you even if you have insurance. If you don't speak up.

Does the nanny's husband watch their baby? Otherwise he should find something to do. She should not have another baby.

OP here and not a troll. It was my second thread. I had originally posted in the health forum because I was concerned with Covid risk. However, people started discussing my arrangement with my nanny and several were really nasty bullies. Someone moved the thread here after that.

Nanny’s mom came to stay at our place yesterday and I wanted health advice about her medical situation so I posted to the health forum, but that was deleted.

What is the plan after a week? You say the nanny’s parents can’t afford a nursing home but it really sounds like the mom needs full time care?


Try to keep up...the adults in the house are...OP, OP’s husband, nanny, nanny’s unemployed husband, nanny’s mom, nanny’s mom’s husband, and nanny’s two kids.

BTW OP, nanny’s mom and her husband are never leaving.

This situation is really really really messed up...I hope a neighbor reports this, there has to be some occupancy laws being broken here. Maybe the authorities need to get involved and figure all this out.

OP hasn’t said for sure, but, my bet is the nanny is a poor African immigrant who ended up in Europe and got swept along to “work” for the OP in the US. OP saying that this is what the nanny wants doesn’t mean anything, because where the hell is this woman going to go if she makes it out of the basement?


But OP and her husband are presumably working, two of nanny’s kids are in college (so unclear to me what their availability is), and OP says that two adults are needed to care for the mom (presumably nanny and nanny’s dad?).

OP if you are a troll, this is a dramatic tale that continues to draw people in, well done.

Their plan is to have nanny, nanny’s husband, nanny’s dad and nanny’s mom at the house. Nanny has an 8 month old baby and two kids in college... a lot of people I know for a 2 bedrooms place.

The mom has help, but I have no idea what her prognosis is. Will she get better? As of now, she really needs two people taking care of her because she does not move and needs to be carried everywhere. I wish they would have brought her to a rehab facility...
