In the doc, her former lawyer said Britney acknowledged she wasn’t going to get out of the conservatorship. She hasn’t challenged it. She’s simply asking for the court to remove her unqualified father and appoint a neutral party. That shouldn’t be an issue.

Britney obviously has serious mental health issues. But why does her dad have to be her conservator? It doesn’t even seem like a long term solution given the fact that this will likely need to be in place for a long time and he has serious health issues.

And watching that interview with Matt Lauer now makes me sick. I remember watching that when it initially aired thinking what a mess she is. Now as a mother myself, I could not imagine the sadness I would feel having my ability as a mother scrutinized on national tv (by a man nonetheless), or the rage I would feel if my kids were taken from me. Britney should have an independent conservator. It was the right thing for her father to step in at the point of crisis because otherwise, she probably wouldn't have made it out alive. Now, she seems to have a good support system in place and should have the ability to decide who should manage her finances and self-care. It's sad that she is unable to make these decisions for herself and her family basically uses her for $. I hope the court eventually rules in her favor.

Do you have cable and get the FX channel?

I don't have Hulu, but I do get the FX channel via Verizon. You can watch it that way. I have a Roku and I watched it via the FXNow streaming app on there (free, because I am a Verizon subscriber).

This is crazy. Someone posted a list of reasons for conservatorship, and alcoholism and clinical depression was listed.

Wake up people. I bet all of us know a fair amount of clinically depressed and/or alcoholics who are not under a conservatorship. Maybe we don't agree with how they are living their life or wish they would get help, but no one is actively trying to control their finances for a decade plus. Know why? Because most people aren't worth hundreds of millions of dollars.

I have no doubt someone needed to take over for Britney when she was spiraling out of control in her 20s. But for 12 years to go by and this just be the default seems crazy. There is SO MUCH CONFLICT OF INTEREST HERE.

The fact that the lawyer hired by Jaime petitioned the court to make her conservatorship a business entity should sicken us all. They overplayed their hand and I believe that is why they let the bank take part of the conservatorship but come on, people were making hand over fist. This is insane, and sad.

She was treated like trash by the media and clearly suffering from mental illness in 2007. I have no opinion on her mental state today but if she was well enough to perform in Vegas for years, she is well enough to get her request for an independent conservator granted. That's a very rational request.

You have zero idea what you are talking about. You are clearly the furthest thing from a mental health professional, which is why your silly little opinion has no bearing.

This documentary was very one sided and was certainly pushing it’s narrative. I don’t think it is at cut and dry as what this documentary suggests. I don’t think we will ever really know the entire truth.

But I will say this: Britney was crazy then. Legit mentally ill. She was late teens and was completely out of control. Justin would bitch about how crazy she was constantly. She got some *unusual* piercings one night and he was ticked. He also was cheating on her hard core with a different girl or two every night. I witnessed this on many occasions until he dated Cameron then he behaved himself for a while.

But the way he acted all wounded and victimized with his Cry Me A River video was pure manipulation for exposure. Britney made Justin. JC was the talent. As far as celebs, he is the biggest jerk I ever met. For the record, Britney is just as she seems, sweet, genuine, simple, insecure, unstable and damaged.

Back then she was so gorgeous, it made you uncomfortable to stand next to her. But if she did not have that conservatorship, she would be dead y’all. Dead. She would’ve joined the 27 club long ago.

Why won’t you?

Because I am still good friends with some celebrities and I like to keep my friends. Since I don’t see or even know Justin or Britney anymore and have not seen them in 25 years, I don’t mind giving my decades old insight on this particular topic.

I enjoyed reading your take. How did you meet these people? Do you think they remember you?
