But previous posters claim it is Fcv that is afraid to play Loudoun... but here Loudoun had the opportunity to have them play head to head and didn’t.... so who doesn’t want to play who? VDA is a different story... FCV and VDA will be a great game.
Every year at every age group between U13 and U19 (skip U18) the following clubs should play each other in a tournament (girls):
VDA, BRYC, McLean, Arlington, FCV, Loudoun, Bethesda, Maryland United. 3 days. Two 4 team brackets with three games during the first two days. On the third day the 1 plays the 1 from the other bracket, 2v2 ... on down the line. This will be known as the DC Urban bragging rights tourney. Games held at Longbridge, Evergreen, Patriot, and MD SoccerPlex. 192 games, 13 fields. Betting thru Fan Duel or cash on hand is allowed. All MD, DC, and VA college recruiters/coaches are encouraged to attend. Losers of 4th v 4th game get chased off he field by ravenous pit bulls and lose their ECNL or GAL status.
Everyone played a lot of friendlies this winter. Let's make it official in a tournament next year!
ECNL teams already play each other. What else do you want?
Only 4 of your 8 teams play each other regularly, but 5 next year (with Arlington) is better, so you're right. It seems like a lot just to satisfy FCV parents.

New OP. This doesn’t effect my kid one bit. However, i don’t believe that any rational person thinks that GA clubs are going to be able to hold their talent together over the next few years. Guess we will see...
I keep seeing constant bashing of GA? Why is this?
I have two girls playing at Loudoun but by no means they are superstars nor have that kind of drive either. I do acknowledge FCV develops and delivers in a constant fashion (the proof is in the committed players and professional and national players - which my club doesn’t).
But I simply don’t understand the bashing of GA and FCV?
Do you see the above post as bashing?
Its my prediction. It has nothing to do with FCV per se. It has to do with keeping talent together in a league that is 2nd tier. I would say the same thing about any club that was currently in the same situation. Its a huge hill to climb when you're surrounded by 5 ECNL clubs.
FCV was a destination club. The best kids flocked to them because they were in the top league. Then they got a reputation as being good a good club because...shocker...the had the best kids.
So what's changed? They are now in a 2nd tier league and there are 5 ECNL clubs. Everything you see currently was the result of them having DA...to include some major pickups from the Loudoun merger. Its all gone now. So what will be the draw in the future when the neighboring clubs can put out the same level of talent? None. So how does FCV survive without a player pool?
In the short term they will need to attract players by having strong coaching, good training and they need to keep showing strong recruiting potential, which is what many parents are looking for. In the long term they'll probably need to merge with another club to get ECNL, or coaches just move on and players go with them. Players loyalty is to their teammates and coaches, nothing to do with the club name.
