Subject: Bowser asking Washingtonians to stay out of downtown Tues and Wed
Monday, police announced the arrest of 53 year-old Ronald Goins, Jr. of Northwest, D.C. whom they say committed at 18 crimes in the neighborhood dating back to October of 2022. Goins, Jr. is accused of breaking into businesses, ransacking them, and even robbing people on the street.
Monday, Mayor Bowser came to the neighborhood to announce police are deploying a task force to Adams Morgan to deal with property and violent crimes.
She says these teams worked for Connecticut and U Streets in Northwest and H street in Northeast last year.
"That means is depending on what's going on in the neighborhood and our staff resources, we will be able to deploy in Adams Morgan," Bowser said.
Including, she said, more foot patrols by police. Shin says its foot traffic that may help the most.

DC Police have been preparing and have deployed their Civil Disobedience Unit and, as another poster noted, National Guard are being deployed. Unfortunately the Natl Guard will not be armed and are to help with checkpoints of incoming traffic only. That will at least free up DC police to address violence.
If you are supposed to work downtown I highly recommend you use sick leave. I also recommend staying home and off the streets as much as possible, even in the outer reaches of the city. These folks want to hurt DC people - black, white, Hispanic, whatever. They see us ALL as the enemy - minorities, elites, Democrats, moderates, RINOs. If you aren’t one of them, they believe you fall into one of these categories and they hate you. They are all hate groups and they are bringing their toxic hatred to our city. Let the police handle them.

I was told the Proud Boys were a white supremacist group.
White supremacy expanded too fast and diluted its brand name in the process.
There have always been some Latino dudes who were absolutely convinced they were white and also were white supremacist. This guy. Trayvon Martin's murderer. I'm sure the list goes on.
Latino is an ethnicity, not a race. Many Latinos are indeed White. Many are Black. Many are Native American. Most are mixed race.
