There are dozens of kids who swim on Sundays, so it's not helpful to say a swimmer in the pool last Sunday tested positive. Don't tell us who it is, but at least say "the swimmer was in the pool before 10 AM" or something like that?

This. If you haven't been following the science enough to know this you might want to reconsider your child's participation. Everyone who was in the facility at the time the positive person was there and perhaps the swim group that came after should be notified.
If there was more than one group both should be notified. Any other staff in the building should also be aware. It doesn't mean they shiould quarantine necesarily but it means they should be monitoring themselves closely.

No one needs details except someone who entered the facility the week of XXX tested positive for covid. Everyone within the last week should be notified.
Do you feel the same way about entering the grocery store with 7 days after someone there tested positive?

It's going to happen. As long as they have been following procedures, it shouldn't be a big deal.
It is a big deal.
We weren't told anything.
You weren’t told anything because your swimmer wasn’t impacted.

If it’s not in my group, I wouldn’t expect to be.
Or a group practicing at the same time. I would expect to be told if there were two groups in the facility at the same time.
