It's important because it helps set the stage for the 2021 school year.
Do you think schools literally forgot how to run 5 days a week? We don’t need a dress rehearsal. Opening schools in Q3 this year has nothing to do with what happens august 2021. Assuming the vaccines are distributed and effective as trials suggest, school will be normal again THEN. Nobody is found to need to do in 2x a week in friggin January to ensure schools can operate like normal next august.
Except mass vaccination by/before Summer is nothing but hopeful thinking. My guess comes from snooping in DW’s virtual meetings. She works for a big pharma company that has secured distributing and allocating vaccinations for the mid-Atlantic region.
Q1 of next year will likely be DL. Q2 and forward will be in-person but still4 says though.

Yet all kids now get a worse version of DL so some can go to the building and more people can get sick. Very cool.
Its great for my Hybrid kids. They invariably will get more attention than the DL kids and will hopefully be able to catch up with some quality one in one.
Super excited about the lower numbers.
Who do you think is working 1:1 with your kids from 6+ feet away. I’ll be yelling at kids across the room through a mask while trying to teach their other 17 peers on the google meet but I guess you can call that 1:1 if you want.
This. Parents are delusional and out of touch. i should feel sorry for them but I love seeing them getting all worked up for a less quality approach than what they currently have.
Get ready for it. It'll be coming to a school near you by spring. Then we can listen to your shrieks and howls of rage.
What is “it”

You got DL for all for a semester and will likely get to keep it another quarter still. So those who choose hybrid might get one quarter of their choice. So you got your way 3/4 of the year. I think you can suck it up.
None of this is “my way.” This is terrible for everyone involved. Every policy we get handed makes it even harder to just serve and teach kids. Going back in and having to do concurrent when nearly all of my students are still at home does not benefit them.
