I'm not surprised. It seems like it would be so hard to have the kids be engaged in a virtually platform. An adult would need to be there to help navigate the computer, unmute and mute, etc. Seems like it would just be easier to do what what can at home or keep them in daycare then attempt distance learning for pre-k.
I mean I just don’t know how many families would find it that valuable. As a head start parent, I just don’t know what it adds for you except a tablet maybe and a lot of hassle with very little if any benefit to your kid. For SN kids it’s also of little benefit. The only benefit I see is to keep you eligible for services and holding out for in person. My guess is head start numbers don’t increase unless they go in person

Honestly, younger kids are better at it than middle schoolers and high schoolers and apparently much better than adult “children”

People have to work. I don't see why that's crass. The economy, and probably society as a whole, would fall apart if we couldn't count on public schools to peovit child care.
