I have married a trump supporter. He hates dems and believes all the conspiracy theories. But he is an excellent dad and partner and adorable otherwise. He is libertarian so views things differently. I try to avoid arguments, but he is pol junkie. I hope we last. He takes politics very personally.


My mom is sweet, kind, good with children (teacher)... but damn she hates black people, has no problem talking about it “just to me”.

Is she a good person?

I don’t know your husband OP. Only you know if he is a good person, a good husband, and a good father. If he is, then open your mind and don’t let media and otherS make you feel shame that you can possibly be associated with someone who doesn’t have the same political views.

Still trying the spin. I admire your commitment. IT has been said this isn't about democrat vd republican. It has been pointed out many times that there are Republicans who are against Trump. It has been said many times that Conservative does equal racist or Trump supporter.

You have choices. You are choosing to support Trump. You are choosing to support a racist. You are choosing to be married to someone who supports a racist.

I and others don't think that's okay. You and others think that okay, own your choice, don't mitigate it or try to blame others for it.

This. My Trumper husband's response? 1/3 of the Democratic delegates voted against their party's platform. There is no reasoning with Trump supporters.
