As a society we tend to prioritize children's lives over adults. The older the person, the less value we put on their lives. It's unfortunate, but it's just how America tends to be. The death of kids attributed to their attending school will keep enough parents from sending their kids in the spring which will cause all schools to go to disctance learning until a vaccine is created.

I prefer a fifth option: school. And I will keep advocating for us - all of us, not just my family - to have this option.

Well, yes, when you tell everybody to go about their business as though there weren't covid, and as a result there is a lot of community spread, and nobody takes appropriate precautions including at daycares, then daycares will also have covid.

So let's not do it that way.

This. Those daycare workers didn't wear masks. They could easily infect each other and the kids.

Also, this Texas report gets pulled out over and over because it is the only one out there right now, or one of few. Among millions of kids in Texas daycares alone.
