This is likely correct. I've witnessed a few instances of rehoming through some contact with adoption groups and for the most challenged kids they almost always need to go to a home with a stay at home parent and no other children. They can't get what they need as part of a big family and the other children suffer, sometimes really seriously. It's sad, but by the time it comes to this it is usually the right move for everyone.

I’m the PP. 1) I’m not Myka but think what you want. 2) They went to MULTIPLE therapists, health professionals, drs, etc. to diagnose him and get help. Things got bad over the last 6 months with him and huge safety issues arose. Again, I’m not putting her personal family stuff out there but for safety reasons regarding hux and the other kids, this was the best course of action. His special needs were way way way beyond what anyone thought.

Look at her adoption update video that she posted on Sept 23, 2019. My guess is that he was getting A LOT of professional help back then that this mother was taking credit for and when the whole Coronavirus thing happened and services became scarce, she and her husband couldn't handle it anymore. That is just a guess, because I can not fathom how you go from posting a video like that in September to "rehoming" your son in May.

I hope that Huxley finds a stable, secure home with loving adults. I hope that Myka's family can heal from this tremendous upheaval.

I have a teenager who has had severe behavioral problems since infancy (ASD & ADHD). Since K, he has been in various special education settings & inpatient/outpatient therapies with similar children. I have known dozens of struggling families. I feel confident in my expertise on this topic.

Your kids behavioral problems are nothing compared to what Huxley has. But try again.

How could you possibly know that? The videos of this child seem pretty tame to me.

Are you this dim? Why the hell would they post videos of him having tantrums or being dangerous or any of the other issues that went on? Why would they do that? Do you post videos of your kids online when they are throwing a fit, throwing stuff, hitting, punching, etc.? No you don’t.

They posted videos of him online "tantrumming" (he was sitting calmly in a stroller) and other videos of him doing normal kid stuff. A child with such SEVERE issues that he could not safely stay in own home would likely not be able to do any of those things.

I posted above that I'm an international adoptee who is also an adoptive parent. While tragic on many, many levels, I actually think it is better the child went to a family who was equipped to care for his needs rather than languish and possibly suffer abuse/neglect by remaining in his first adoptive family. Having adopted internationally, I think part of the onus is on the adoption agencies to be 100% transparent with the needs of a child available for adoption and to provide a lot of training and education for the prospective adoptive parents. Part of the onus is on the prospective adoptive families to be fully honest with themselves with what they can and can't handle. Saying that love is all a child needs isn't true and families need to hear this loud and clear. Some families have no business adopting. There were failures all around.

Also, while the love for both bio and adopted kids is the same, they shouldn't be parented the same way. There is a complex layer in parenting an adopted child that isn't present with bio kids. While bio kids aren't immune to their own needs and issues, of course, adoption adds something else. It is not fair or right to assume that their needs are identical. I have both adopted and bio kids, before you ask.

Finally, to the poster who is this woman's friend, for God's sake, someone needs to tell her to get the hell off social media and protect her children's privacy.
