No...I’m not envious, or have any hatred towards most Feds. Just realistic. I own my small commercial construction business and doing just fine. Most of the Feds I know are lazy ass$$, whine too much, hanging out just to pick up the paycheck, entitled attitude, and not in touch with reality. Most even admit and brag about it as much!! They should be laid off or at a minimum furloughed!!!

Sounds like you're just anti-feds. We're not equivalent to Congress, you know. Sometimes I think people project their hatred of Congress onto the federal workforce as a whole.

Not that some aren't suffering. We're helping to support family, non-profits, our teachers, and local businesses. We see the pain and are helping as we can.
But it would be seriously foolish to do anything to lower consumption right now. Cutting the pay of public employees - which would absolutely impact US consumption - would push us further into recession/depression.
OP, you could not be stupider.

Yes, if the federal government lowers pay, my DH will finally relent and apply to one of those jobs recruiting firms send him every week. He could at least double his fed salary.
Doubt it.

That really backfired.

I'm not involved in health, but the industry I regulate is taking a beating and there is a lot to do. I'd imagine it's similar at many like USDA, Treasury, IRS, State (lots of Americans being repatriated and trapped overseas, plus their own FSOs), Small Business Administration, etc. The federal government is putting up a massive front right now and feds are working to make it happen.
I have a friend at IRS that has worked 18 hour days for weeks getting stimulus checks out.
