Definitely a low blow and I don't blame Beth for almost coming to blows with this woman.

She’s really that big. It’s shocking she doesn’t get help. If she were an alcoholic people would tell her to get help, but apparently eating yourself to death is different. Not saying you can’t be big and healthy , I’m all for some curves, but morbid obesity is no joke.
This is exactly what drives me crazy. Her size should not be celebrated.
How is it being celebrated? As a PP said above, there are millions of obese people in the world, and you are seeing one on TV. Are you saying that the mere fact of her being on TV is a celebration?
It’s that no character addresses it as a problem. If she was addicted to drugs or alcohol, they would intervene. But according to the story it’s okay (and beautiful) to be obese. That bothers me. I just want her illness to be part of the story.
They do address her unhappiness about her weight, her life trajectory, etc. It's just they don't fixate about it. Her mom and siblings love her, and don't want her to pile on her. Unlike you, who wants this the be the focus ALL THE TIME.
