I think that she was scared to call 911 but really had no choice.

So I'm looking at google maps of Bridgeton park and trying to figure out where it was.

In the 911 calls she describes the location as at the basketball courts behind the high school. I'm guessing that's the ones near the corner of Burt St and Babe Ruth St. You can see there is parking along Babe Ruth St. It (distance of where she parked to the playground) been described as "30 yards" --but there is no way any of those parking spots meet that description. There is a nearby football field so it's easy to eyeball the distance and even the closest parking spot is at least 100 yards to the playground.

She is only 19 with a 5 year old and a 3 year old that her parents are raising for her. This young woman doesn't even live with her children - she apparently had some issues and her mom kicked her out of the house. She's living in a room nearby and sees her kids but she isn't working or going to school as far as I am aware. And she is now pregnant with a 3rd child by an undocumented father. She has a history of poor decision making and is in the process of trying to turn that around for herself.

She might love her children but she has more of a big sister relationship with them, much like she has with her 8/9 year old sister. Her mom probably asked her to watch the kids for her.

She may have called the brother first to help find Dulce because she was worried that she would get into trouble with her mom for not keeping a closer eye on the kids. I guess the point is, this is not a typical mother losing sight of her child on a playground. It's not even a typical responsible teenager losing sight of her charges on the playground. This 19 year old girl has had a different kind of life than most of us can relate to.

I can only hope that Dulce's paternal relatives took the child.

Yes, but that's her as an individual, not 19 year olds in general. Heck, even her 8/9 year old sister was savvy enough to note that it wasn't good that they couldn't see the little kids playing from the car and spoke up.

I do think the child was taken, and I don't think it was random.
