I'm the OP. Had a long drive to the funeral of an old neighbor today and listened to NPR a lot, after watching most of McGuire's testimony last night.

Re: Giuliani, what most strikes me is that we just can't have the attorney for the president as an individual also represent the president as president. Period. Whether anything like that has happened in the past I have no idea, I think probably not, but this can never be allowed in the future.

I heard Jim Jordan (don't know where he was speaking) on NPR today, basically arguing that everything the president does always represents the best interests of the nation. Is he that much of a lunatic? Clearly, then, the impeachment clause of the Constitution has been written out.
