There were many days I literally forgot I was a person, and would have likely rejected “real” help, because I didn’t think I was deserving of it. So yeah, a message on a banana, no matter how trite it might seem to someone who has never lived that way, can make an impact. I would have read it, on my own, and realized someone meant it for me. It may have given me a little hope on those really dark days.

You have no idea if it will help, or if it won’t, but it costs nothing more than a few seconds of time.

Yes, a napkin or a sticky note would have been great too, but there was also a time I didn’t get to have “possessions” because I didn’t have a home. I carried what I couldn’t, and left what I couldn’t.

FWIW, sex workers often don’t get to have “things”. A personal note in their pocket could get them beaten, especially if their pimp found it and thought they were in a relationship or something similar where their keeper was not getting a cut.

Her parents are NOT from a high social class, they aren't well educated. Also, Kate's siblings can't seem to latch onto the idea of keeping it clean.

Meghan's parents are from a similar background socially, not very well educated. However, they did not acquire the amount of money that Kate's family did. They did put Meghan in the best schools that they could afford. Meghan led a life in Hollywood, which almost always compromises a person's ability to stay "clean" and sophisticated. The bad roles and the obligatory divorces are hard to shake. Meghan's family, excluding her mother and ex husband, is a disgrace.
