You obviously don't understand the meaning of the word "considered." OP asked if English majors are "considered" smart. I responded with how I viewed them. That's what considered means. The WSJ did a great story a year or 2 ago saying how many companies these days preferred liberal arts majors because they can actually think.

It's not your major that counts OP but what you do with it. I'm guessing you went to Trump U?

Depends on the student. Also, English majors can focus on useful skills like writing and analysis to get employment but they have to know how to figure out what they want to do and then network to meet people who will want to hire them.

Yeah, there are majors where people will hire you and tell you what to do. But anyone who is good at writing, analysis, and speaking can get a job. They just have to know how to be pro-active about it.
