Wrong. Orderly repatriation to their home country is all that is necessary. You are ridiculous

No matter how a child came to be here, a child deserves food, shelter, clothing, medical care.

I bet the people who are staunch pro-birthers are the ones saying these kids don't deserve any care. Shame on you!!!

Truly a basket of deplorables.

Get out your pocketbook and write a check! Drive to the border with donations! Offer to house and feed and don't leave until you have a carload.

What do you think a wall will do?

If you want fewer refugees then (a) punish the employers who are hiring them (AKA GOP) and (b) make it safer for them at home (don’t cut off aid).

Aid clearly isn't helping as a million are showing up at our border. Dont give more money in aid since they are after the remittances anyway.

Romney just introduced an e-verify bill. Let's see who supports it and who doesn't.

Trump has been cutting aid from day 1. It was helping - measurable results - before he pulled the rug out from under that.

Trump just cut aid this month. It was not helping. Bloomberg just did an article the other day of how we send aid in millions but each Central American country in the northern triangle gets back BILLIONS in remittance so they push their poor here.

If it were actually helping, they wouldn't be here. Stoping being naive.

And they pay BILLIONS more in taxes. They are a net benefit to our economy.

He’s been trying to cut foreign aid since he took office:
https://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-trump-budget-state-idUSKBN16N0DQ

And they are here because of (a) jobs from GOP businesses and (b) violence at home (fostered by the political and economic instability we helped create).

Nice try. They use billions in welfare here.

He didn't cut the aid until this month. Talking about it is different than doing it.

You are delusional if you think that only GOP supporters hire illegal immigrants. We have given enough in aid, remittances, and taking on feeding and educating their poor to cover whatever meddling we did. Enough. You act like CA was a paradise before we showed up.

Yes. You would think they’d be here helping, wouldn’t you? But they’re happy these people are now apparently our problem, not theirs. Unbelievable.

Yes, well, usually poor countries have a hard time taking care of their own.

Seems to me the leaders of these countries, their families, are very very very rich. Hmmmm

Hm.. that could be said of American leaders, too, and the poor Americans.

No one one here will volunteer to do sh!t. They just like talking about it.

They want "the government" to do it

We want the government to provide minimally humane care to the children that Trump has chosen to keep in prison. Yeah. That is not a big ask.

There was testimony from months ago saying this is a crisis. Those people testifying to congress begged for money to address it. The president said it was a crisis last year as well but I bet you were one of the ones blowing it off as a political stunt for the election. So now here we sit after democrats sat on their asses for months blowing off the warnings of the president and those who testified to congress and now wag their fingers at the conditions these immigrants are in. Unbelievable.

I knew you'd find a way to blame Democrats for Trump torturing children. You're as predictable as you are heartless.

So no response to the fact that officials warned Congress months ago that this was a crisis? Typical.

Democrats found time to pass amnesty during the past few weeks though. Keep ignoring facts

The folks here could caravan to the border or a drop off station to pick up kids and/or families. They won’t.

Why won’t you?

Because I'm not the one accusing others of not doing enough, while not doing enough. So many here volunteering their homes but not one physically mobilizing to go get these kids. But they feel so generous and woke just saying it.

In other words if you know something terrible is going on in something run by the government just shut up because there’s nothing you can do. Never mind that public outcry can make politicians act.

Sorry you don’t care about 2 year olds sitting in their soiled diapers and eating uncooked rice in federal detention.

Get down there and offer assistance. In fact, why don't you take the several federal jobs open that provide assistance in these centers? Your outrage is met with equal frustration of the Republican and Democrats of the BP at this untenable situation. Have a heart and go there. Stay in a cheap, plentiful hotel, go to a big box and buy all the GD toothbrushes and clean underwear you can afford. Wash clothes since you want to send others to The Hague for a child in a soiled nappy and teens babysitting. Just do something other than complain. You welcomed the migrants with open arms, who have enough money to pay cartel coyotes who used their children as pawns and all you can do is complain when the situation isn't perfect. I get the distinct feeling this tendency permeates your entire life.

Are you yelling at your plant because it needs water? "Somebody DO SOOOOOOOMETHING."

I don't think you understand how overwhelmed the normal support systems are there because you have issues you are unable examine yourself. I empower you to be your best.

I don't think PP has any idea of the magnitude of the humanitarian effort. Does he/she not realize that kids are being trafficked? Swapped?

How can we increase legal immigration when we have hundreds of thousands of people streaming over the border?

That is certainly the impression they leave. The "save the babies" party thinks that leaving children to suffer in these abhorrent conditions is just fine and dandy because Democrats.

WTF is wrong with you?

No. Just no. We cannot keep doing this to children.

There are about 16,000 BP assigned to the SW border -about 20,000 total nationwide. (Politifact)

Nothing is wrong with me. I'm the sane one who understands numbers. And I don't live in my head.

If centers are overcapacity by 11,000, let's say, how can 16,000 BP agents keep up?
