Ralph Northam dressed in blackface as an adult and he is still governor.
That tells you everything you need to know about how the rules are applied in our society.

Where does it say that he threatened violence? I would not defend that. But, yes, racist speech is free speech and educational institutions that supposedly value the free exchange of ideas should protect it.
Here's the posts where he talks about killing the Jews. It boggles my mind that people are feeling so sorry for this kid. There are a million more deserving kids out there than this one, hopefully he'll take this as a lesson to improve his character.

In Florida a 14 year old can be tried and sentenced as an adult for many felonies, and a 16 year old in Florida is considered an adult for all felonies. So a 14 year old who commits murder can be tried and sentenced to life in prison without parole in Florida. Yet, somehow we should be concerned that Harvard revoked an admission based on a 16 year old expressing racist and hateful views, and conservatives who broadly support putting a 14 year old in prison for life are upset that there is no forgiveness for a racist, hateful 16 year old.
A thousand times yes. This is what we mean by privilege and entitlement: why should my horrible actions ruin my chances at an easy life?
+1 Consequences for thee, but not for me.

Free speech doesn't mean freedom from consequences.

I can bet you that Harvard took him because Trump, his cronies and NRA, asked Harvard to take him. They wanted to distract/pressurize/contain activists like David Hogg who was given admission by Harvard. This student was taken by Harvard not based on his superior academic record (because he proves he is not really very smart by his actions), but because Harvard has produced some truly evil and horrible students who are currently in the administration and have deep pockets. Besides, Harvard usually likes to hedge its bet and plays both sides of the aisle - mainly because Harvard emerges a winner regardless of who comes out as the winner at the moment.
Dig deep into this student's record. You will find that he is quite mediocre and really not "Harvard-worthy". I think the real scandal is there...
I don’t know that it’s as much of a scandal as that, but it wouldn’t surprise me if he was more of a token diversity admit than someone who truly got in on his own merits.
He is a White Male. What diversity are you talking about? Do you know the composition of Harvard students?

Princeton and Duke aren't going to try to take this kid. Maybe he can get an internship with David Duke.

Yes - exactly this. Exactly exactly this.
