So, if you choose to communicate with the doctor's office about either your worries or your request to see someone different, check your grammar and be sure to present yourself as fully cogent.

OP here. That should have read 2 minutes not 2 weeks. Anyway I checked the reviews from this place today and they're horrible. Lot's of women have had similar experiences. I am not blowing off the recommendations from the MFM. The MFM told me we need to check with my OB first because my OB should know if I really did have an incompetent cervix. My OB office has my records. You guys are all hell bent that the MFM based this on my ultrasound yesterday but that's not true. I am done with this forum. Some of you are clearly miserable people who get pleasure from insulting other's.

OP make another appointment with your OB and or another MFM. It's important for you to understand why they recommended this treatment. Unfortunately doctor's do recommend tests that may not be necessary. It sounds like your first baby was almost full term if she/ he went home with you. I wouldn't want to have transvaginal ultrasounds every 2 weeks unless it was absolutely necessary.

My youngest is 3 yo so maybe things have changed, but I only had 2 scans at the OB’s office - one at the first appointment to date/ confirm viability and then another at around 36-37 weeks to confirm breech (this is in addition to the 12 and 20 week scans at an imaging facility). This was here in the DC area, at Georgetown.

every appointment, no. but you had 4 total, right in line with what the PP was saying. Viability/dating early on, then ~12 weeks, anatomy scan around 20......

She also said we have to see what my obgyn says. I am going to have dinner with my family now. Thanks to the people who were actually nice. People are so quick to attack and insult on here.

A lot of us tried to help by explaining to you that you should take these issues seriously and you keep doling out incomplete information and acting like we're the bad guys for pointing out that it's weird your seem more concerned with the tech than you're own health.

This last post before this is the only post where you said you were worried about the baby.

All we're saying is that you should follow up if an mfm thinks you have an incompetent cervix and told you so after your first anatomy scan at 18 weeks and getting a verbal history of your previous birth. And that at the end of the day that is far more important than the tech.

And yes the mfm looked at your scan if you literally had a scan then a consult

Having an appointment for less than 5 minutes would be concerning for me. Nothing on here indicates OP is not taking her health serious. You're jumping to a lot of conclusions. I personally opted out of MFM because they recommend far too many tests. My birth was right on the cusp of being full term.

This is the kind of sentence that with no context actually says absolutely nothing but does further stigmatize doctors who are sometimes ESSENTIAL. Why were you recommended to the MFM? For some cases that could be totally reasonable and for others totally insane. I had pre-eclampsia and HELLP my first pregnancy that presented strangely. I was hospitalized for a week and had a slightly premature but very small baby. Had I opted out of an MFM because of 'too many tests' well...in my first pregnancy I'd probably be dead. In my second pregnancy it wouldn't have alerted me to the kidney damage I suffered from the first and the post partum blood pressure issues I had. I now feel more comfortable with those tests making sure I don't die or suffer more complications for my third. For someone like me, opting out of an MFM would be frankly negligent to my children and husband.

But if you're just like 39 and have no complications and they just want you to go because of your age than I could see opting out of an MFM as a totally reasonable choice.

I really don't care if requests this tech or another one, that is an easy fix that she seems not to be interested based on how much she has fought it. Yes the clear answer is that if she ever has to go back to just request to not be placed with that specific tech. But OP has consistently said she has no idea why she was preterm before and has never really followed up on why. And part of what irked her about the tech and the MFM was their focus on this issue that she had little to no information about. She seems to think its really NBD. And maybe it is! But she doesn't really know for sure and definitely none of us do.

What we do know is that an MFM and a tech who have looked at ultrasounds (the only people this pregnancy that have looked at ultrasounds per the OP) are concerned about her having an incompetent cervix. And she seems to want to blow them off. I think that is unwise.

OP here. Obviously I am concerned. This is why I posted. It's not too pleasant when you hear that someone thinks you have something but doesn't know for sure. My mfm did not say she based the treatment plan on my ultrasound. She also said we need to run it by MY obgyn and she what she thinks. None of this makes me feel that the MFM had a good handle on the situation. The tech also kept telling me this was all based on assumptions because my ob did not send my records or notes. At this point I don't care about the tech. I find it weird you're insulting someone who is concerned about the health of my baby and myself. If you don't have anything nice to say then move on to another post please.
