Don't call names, guys. It's not cool.

Let's just encourage honest debate. I don't agree with everything she says, but I like that's made this an issue people are talking about. I was glad to see the others go. They were snarky. She never is.

She did apologize for the peanut thing and apparently has a kid(s) with allergies, so that I think was just a blunder. I understand her a lot better now that she explained one of her kids has eye damage from screens and that is what launched her down this path of advocacy.

And for the most part, it's been more civil and an actual discussion.

Thank goodness Goldstein and Priddy are both running clean races.

Couldn’t help but at all the replies to the lady who announced her departure from the group. She voiced what many people are too afraid to say out loud.

I say good riddance. I don't understand why she and the other departer kept arguing with Nature Eyeballs. And why would anyone be "afraid" to say anything out loud? Nature Eyeballs is always calm and respectful. You know what her posts are going to say; if you don't want to read them, don't read them.

This is why I blocked her. She is always nice but sooo irritating. Once she compared screens to peanut allergies. There's been a few posts about addiction and depression/suicides that automatically turn into a device debate and shuts down any other talk on the subject.

And half her posts are from questionable sites and research sometimes it's hard not to speak up.

At least one of the departers (I didn't check to see who all of them are) has had tantrums because her very special alma mater was ranked below another small liberal arts college, and wow. They were both fine schools, but she just could not accept that fact. She was also deeply upset that her kid might have a harder time getting into college than she did.

Obviously being well adjusted isn't a requirement for participating in AEM, but it's hard for me to mourn her departure.

Lol we definitely need to make "Nature Eyeballs" an ongoing thing.

I don't like the overfocus on screens but that one poster is SO annoying that I'm coming around on screens.

Maybe, if you can't up your critical thinking to evaluate APS' use of screens on its own merits, you could just hide Our Lady of the Nature Eyeballs? Every good cause has some unfortunate supporters.

I was not speaking literally. I'm just pointing out that she's hurting her own cause. But I do like your nickname.

Yes great name. I’ve blocked her too, is she still on her crusade? She needs to just find a Waldorf school or a commune somewhere at this point.

Every once in a while I'll see her tagged as a reply to a comment so I know she's saying something.

AEM has become a forum for the intolerant and the intolerable.
