when I was 120 at 5'7 I was TINY

My goal is 140, and Im at 160 right now

How does it work that you eat less than most people but weigh more? Is it your basal metabolism? What is your BMR if you dont mind? I hear people say this- they eat 1000 calories a day and are still 100 lbs overweight but I don't understand how that works.



Probably pretty inactive. Physical activity is difficult at this size.

I'm 5-11 and I was smokin' hot and super fit at 160. I got down to 152 once but that was really skinny for me, and it didn't suit me as well as 160. 160 for the record I was still a size 8-10, maybe 8 on the bottom and 10 on top. Stretchy things I could go smaller and look fine but anything with seams near my boobs had to be bigger and/or a tall size or I couldn't raise my arms, bend over, etc.


Sigh. That was all...many pounds ago.


This is me too. At my skinniest, many years ago, I was 160. I still looked great at 170-175 because of my build. That was before kids, however, and the lowest I have gotten since was 180 with a tremendous amount of effort and deprivation. 34f

I'm 5'8 and 135 lbs. I am happy with this weight. I lift weights and this is a good weight to look toned. I wear size 2 or 4 bottoms in most brands, and 4 for tops and dresses.

6-1, I’d like to get to 220 down from 250-260.
I have always been a big guy but I know I’m too big. I’m actually in fine health but I should drop some of this weight to have more energy.

Depending on body type and store, I agree.

At 5'8" and 130 pounds, I am a 4-6 in most of my regular stores and styles of clothing, a solid 8-10 in jeans, a solid 10 in shorts, and a 12-14 at "cheap" stores like H&M. It's weird how different sizes can be on different people and in different stores.

Even when I was 105-110 pounds, I was still a size 4-6 because even then, I had 36-inch hips and a 36-inch bust.


Amazing how bodies differ. I’m 5’8” and at my thinnest — 139 for a hot second — I was a 2 - 4 in most brands. 145 is my ideal but 150 - 152 is probably a realistic goal if I want to be able to eat the occasional crappy carb (ice cream or a bag of Smartfood) and regularly have a glass of wine.

That said, I don’t start looking husky and moving out of size 8 until 170 or so.

What is it exactly about a *disease* like anorexia nervosa that you think is so funny? Why is cancer or Chron's disease not the fault of the patient, but suffering from anorexia is somehow a choice and a moral failing?
