Have you been using any toys? You need to clean them. And not everything advertised as "body safe" is actually safe. The cheap TPR stuff is advertised on Amazon as body safe. This means that it's phtlate free. However, TPR is porous, and can harbor infection. Throw it out.

First, it's medically correct to do the test. Second, it gives peace of mind to know the nightmare scenario didn't happen.

But I blame my doctor for a comment about the symptom being mostly associated with STDs (although her "but it could also be.." comment ended up being right). I think doctors should be more careful with their words, especially since I told her I hadn't done anything risky sexually and she knew (or forgot?) that I was married


Doctors alawys think genital issues are stds. I knew I did not have an STD and the doctor did not believe me and insisted on testing. Which is fine, but he treated me like I was some sort of plague carrier. He called me, amazed, that it was actually an infection. Just like I told him. Doctors do this all the time, I assume they have lots of stupid patients and assume everyone is stupid too.


+1. In college, I saw an obgyn who also treated me like a plague carrier and insisted I get tested for herpes because "we've got to stop spreading it around". I had no symptoms and was just there for an annual exam. Surprise, test came back negative. I changed doctors and my new one said it's not routine to test for herpes at annuals, so no idea why she insisted I get tested.
