This is funny. It has been one year. They are playing for the long term. It’s not defensive, it’s just reality. Guess we’ll wait and see what happens. The rumor is apparently a wish, because you can’t substantiate it. No “resources” are shifting, unless they are shifting in someone’s head.
They should play for the long term. Thinking that all of the good players will be in either league is not reality, that’s fantasy. Do you really think that no NT quality players will be playing at LAFC Slammers, PDA, Hawks, etc? Ignoring those clubs would be bad for US soccer.
I guess that does not match your agenda. Your interests must not align with US Soccer.
What agenda? What on earth are you talking about? You post unsubstantiated rumors that have no credible source and others are the one with an agenda?
Crazy town.
I did not post the rumor. I just said it makes sense.
Based on what?? They aren't really scouting the u13 group anyway. There are no resources to be "saved" for ECNL scouting. The u13 group was introduced to provide a competing pathway to ECNL and expanded this year. The evidence is contrary to the notion you say makes sense. Makes a lot more sense that the older, established ECNL stars age out and the younger kids go disproportionately DA. It will take longer, because ECNL won't go down without a fight (which is why a few clubs moved back, as you allude to), but the writing is on the wall.
You might be right on the resource front. I assumed part of shutting down the U12 boys is to save resources. Maybe there is no cost to US Soccer running U12 and U13. That would be surprising but I will take your word for it.
For the younger ages in this area the best players have not flocked to DA clubs. Since you want evidence I point to the low attendance at DA ID sessions at WS and FCV. Right now the best 07 teams are ECNL clubs. Like you said it may take time. I would not say the writing is on the wall though.

The Washington Spirit field two clubs in the U.S. Soccer Girls Development Academy. Virginia, which trains and plays games primarily in Reston, Va. and Baltimore, which trains primarily in Columbia, Md., and plays primarily at the Maryland SoccerPlex in Germantown. For 2018/19 both Academies will field teams as follows, with roster sizes of 18-20 players, but also with the ability to move players “up” as needed to maximize their development:
Birth Years – Age Group Label
2007/2006 – U13
2006/2005 – U14
2005/2004 – U15
2004/2003 – U16 (EDP Team in Virginia Only, players eligible to play limited DA games)
2003/2002 – U17
2001/2000 – U19
Playing up should be reserved for exceptional players--meaning that the player who is playing up an age group should be in the top 4-5 players in that older age group. Clubs that use playing up to fill teams should be avoided.
got it - stick with your current club and keep paying for another year of ncsl and don't explore opportunities. :-/
the WS organization is probably a crappy program and offers no development and no way could they do anything for my 08 green player because they are just fillin' rosters :-/
Why NCSL? Just play up on MYS ECNL U13 next year. Probably better than going to DA that is shutting your DDs age group both of the next two years. Push the decision out until U14.
You must not know mclean. The td is a royal jerk and he has power tripped these 08s before and playing up is not something supported by the club at all. It would be a good option what you say, yes, but no u12 green 08 is going to be invited to play up in ECNL next year. Not one.
WS is a good option, but if there is no WS u13 teams in 2020-21, then a player always can back and try ECNL then if good enough. And yes, I have heard they like to blacklist but the ECNL coaches are in a different zone.

Ahh--got it! This is a wish from those who are pumping other alternative clubs where the "real" magic is happening. LOL
Well played, but there is no magic anywhere that will make us competitive. Just time for the culture to become more favorable. No shortcuts.
No you don’t get it. This de-escalates the ECNL vs DA debate.
Howso? It would only push it back a year. The problem for DA is that if it doesn’t start at u13, girls may entrench at ECNL clubs. US Soccer wants to supplant it. That’s why the rumor makes no sense.
The Hawks, PDA, etc will have nowhere else to go if they are successful.
US Soccer knows they can’t supplant it. They don’t own the clubs. Who is the girls DA champion for the 18/19s last year? That ECNL club tells the story.
If you think Kater, Heinrich’s and the rest did not build DA to find the best talent but to control everything than you are lost.
