(Just kidding. I'm the OP, and the one the moderator just accused of being a racist, moron, or deplorable.)

You said the most important issue to you is illegal immigration. If that is more important to you then healthcare, the economy, war and peace, etc., you are obviously a racist, moron, and deplorable. It is pretty clear that being against "illegal immigration" is simply a respectable way of announcing that you are a white supremacist. One scratch below the surface will reveal that you are actually against nearly all immigration, legal or otherwise, involving non-white people. Oh sure, you will cloud that behind arguments that you want immigrants that will "help our economy" and are "educated" and so on, but the truth is pretty obvious.

So....I am a white supremacist, against non-white people, is that it, because of my take on illegal immigration? Are you really going to insist on that old, tired, overused LIE that liberals such as yourself use to attack people who don't fall in line with the liberal position?

Then answer me this: if I am such a racist, why did I just vote for the African-American running against the white guy for my congressional district? If I were like YOU, and the white guy wins tonight (which he will) I could accuse all the liberals in my district of being racist. They wouldn't vote for the black guy.

So......are you willing to apologize for calling me a white nationalist, knowing that I chose a black guy over a white to represent me in Congress? Admit when you're wrong, and when you accuse decent people of horrible traits.

You are essentially making the "I have a black friend" argument. Sorry, I'm not convinced. Illegal immigration has been decreasing for years. Yet, you consider it the most important issue facing our country. How can that be? Is your healthcare so great that it is no longer a problem for you? Are your taxes so low that you don't even notice them? Do you have the job of your dreams and don't need or desire a raise, additional benefits, or improved working conditions? Are you completely happy with our foreign policy and it doesn't concern you in the slightest? Are the roads, bridges, and other infrastructure in your community in such great shape that they present absolutely no concerns to you? Are you perfectly happy with our environment and are not troubled by increasingly common and violent hurricanes? I'm just trying to figure out in what kind of world you live that your number one concern is illegal immigration.

Looking at what others have written, I see that illegal immigrants are handy scapegoats. They are blamed for everything. The economy is not good enough? That's the fault of illegal immigrants. Schools are crowded? Illegal immigrants. Healthcare is expensive? Blame illegal immigrants.

As I said, scratch the surface of an "illegal immigrant" opponent and you find an immigration opponent. "We support legal immigration" they say, but then propose stripping the Constitution of the 14th amendment, ending family reunification, restricting asylum and refugees, and proposing educational and financial hurdles (all the time railing against highly-educated Indians who are stealing their jobs). You are perfectly happy with immigrants so long as they are white, English-speaking, middle or upper middle class just like yourself. But, call you a white supremacist and you act offended. If you don't like the label, don't work so hard to earn it.

Dp here. My families and other millions of people are waiting in line for immigrant visa for many many years ( the legal way) but you want open borders/ not caring illegal immigrants breaking the law ? I find you are a liberal/socialist who can’t understand the law and order. Democrats scream for fairness...really?

Economic is good and people do care .

DP here as well. You are lying, or you are being lied to and are OK with that. Which one is it?

Interesting. The nomination and approval of both Gorsuch and Kavanaugh have shown me clearly how the GOP behaves in power.

Add to that the Garland non-hearings.

This.

And the damage they are doing to the environment, health care, and our democracy.

We are not the party that has romantic feelings about having a president who has already served two terms to come back for a third, and maybe a fourth after that.

I'm old enough to remember people of the elephantine persuasion having "romantic feelings" about Ronald Reagan, so what's your point?

These, and all similar reasons.

Also, to hopefully contribute to high turnout. The more people vote, however they vote, the more "We The People" send a loud, clear message that we value our rights and won't let those who would sow cynicism and apathy prevail.

Its just a vote getting ploy by conning gullible Trumpsters.

Absolutely, especially in California.
Deportation for work and family, fine and jail for direct employer/manager.
Minimum wage required.
Citizenship by birth only for permanent U.S. residents (not illegals, not student visas. Not 90 day tourists)
Must have proof of asylum case and why USA not other counties in Americas.
No DACA.

Trump is catching illegal immigrants who have been here for decades, but not enforcing existing laws against employers. Why is that?

You are not really helping things Jeff. Did someone else get a hold of your Admin account?

Not helping things? What are you talking about?

I disagree with Jeff's assertion that anyone who thinks illegal immigration is more important to them than healthcare, the economy, war and peace, etc, is obviously a racist, moron, and deplorable. I can't fathom how any rational person can come to this conclusion. People don't all have the same take on what's most important to them. To someone who has good healthcare and believes the healthcare system in the US is working okay for the most part (not me, but someone can think this), that the economy is doing great, and that the US is generally secure from threat of war, then illegal immigration may very well be more important. I am not saying I agree that it is the most important issue, but I can understand and appreciate that people have different priorities as a result of their circumstances - it doesn't automatically make them a racist, moron, and deplorable. I find Jeff's behavior beyond the pale, therefore I questioned whether someone else got a hold of his account.

Thank you! I'm the OP, and the one whom Jeff called a moron, racist, or deplorable. He called me a white supremacist, and accused me of being against ALL immigration. He is exemplifying the very worst of liberal traits - demonizing people who disagree.

FTR, I believe illegal immigration should be our number one issue because it so negatively impacts other areas, such as health care and the economy. You simply cannot throw open the doors to foreign nationals who cannot afford to feed their own kids and expect American taxpayers, most of whom earn moderate wages, to pay to teach these kids English, provide them with lunch, and then give all benefits to any additional babies born here.

Just look at the "illegal" neighborhoods, where they congregate. The public schools are rated 3, property values have dropped by a third, and elderly Americans who bought a $50,000 ranch house 40 years ago have watched their equity drop. Or to to a nearby ER, where illegal aliens get treated for free, and lower-middle class Americans can't afford the ER bill.

No, I am in favor of immigration - but merit-based. And I have lenient standards. Adults needs a high school degree and must demonstrate that they have the means to provide for their families. But it is ridiculous the way liberals care more about the wants of non-Americans, even though it comes at the expense of working-class Americans, and then accuse anyone who points that out as being racist is crazy.

If you believe illegal immigration has a significant impact on healthcare than someone has swindled you.

Health care is the lesser example. It's the economy in general. How do you liberals think we can keep importing millions and millions of poor, uneducated, unskilled immigrants who require and take taxpayer support, and lower the caliber of our public school system, without seeing a huge impact?

It must be hard to live in such a state of fear and paranoia.

No, I live in reality. Leave your little UMC liberal bubble, and drive over to the Glenmont Shopping Center and see what the area looks like. Maybe you can pick up the dirty diapers lying in the parking lot and suggest to the mothers that they don't let their toddlers sit in the beer-drenched curb. Then knock on the doors of the elderly people living nearby and tell them you're sorry that the illegal influx has killed the schools and robbed them of their home's equity they could have used to pay for care in their old age.

Nasty poor people

Heartbreaking picture of reality. I used to live near there.

This is as true as Loudoun County becoming Calcutta, as one Trumpkin put it before

What are you trying to say? You don't like the truth, so you just deny it?

Obviously, you don't have family living in a house close to Glenmont. I do, and I see it with my own eyes. I also know that the homes are being "shared" (unofficially) with two and three families per house. You can tell just by the number of cars per house.

I am trying to say you and your President are liars. HTH.

So I'm lying that my family lives in Glenmont,,,..or that the school is now a 3.......or that the toddlers sit in the dirty curbs?

Just like a lib. Doesn't like the truth, so attacks the truth-teller as a liar. (Or racist.)

Yes, OP here....and I see your post. Thanks.

The ironic thing is that the liberal moderator not only called me a moron, but also accused me of being a white supremacist who doesn't like "brown people" (because I'm not toeing the liberal line ).....and.....I just got back from voting this morning and VOTED FOR THE BLACK CANDIDATE in my district.

(Of course, it's a liberal district, so the white D will win. )
