We thought it was Beta for sure until he popped up at the end.

episode 15 ends with the "fair" and episode 16 starts with everyone leaving and the town burned. with them all walking through a snow storm for the entire episode.
I get that every now and again you gotta jump back in time to tell a little bit of back story.
but damn this spring season has spent more time jumping around its so frustrating.
I don't mind having to think a little bit about a tv show, but i might have to start taking notes
Did someone at AMC push play on the wrong episode...
now I guess I gotta hang around to figure out why they lost the town...
And it ended in the spring too? The whispers scene was no longer in the winter. I was just saying how I wished there was a time stamp at the beginning of each scene. It also goes from night to day from one scene to the next. Like folks are walking at night and all of the sudden its day but no time seems to have passed.
Not necessarily. The whisperers migrate like animals to warmer regions during the winter. That last scene with alpha and beta could be the same timeframe but much further south than Virginia.

I think the problem was Durabont leaving. I think he had the show planned out through Terminus or the Church/Bob's leg (what a moment). It just got too slow after that.
I think Andrew Lincoln decided to leave because they killed Carl.
I think they killed Merle back when they did because he couldn't get along with Danai Gurirra. When Durabont left, they also decided to kill Andrea, give her storylines to Danai, and Danai wanted the Merle actor gone. I got this from an interview done by Lori Holder plus a video of Dania and the Merle actor at a comic con or something, you can tell she doesn't like him.

This has gone on way too long. I agree with everyone that it reached its peak a few seasons ago. there are only so many ways to pit humans against zombies.
I think part of the problem is that you’re still viewing it as a show about humans vs. zombies, which it really isn’t. The zombies are the background for a show about people.
This is true also. As my husband said, it's not a show about zombies. It's about what humans do to each other. But still, the exciting story arc ended long ago. Now it's just about who's going to supply food for what community, as well as ridiculous couplings. It's sad that it's gotten so dumb because it used to be fabulous.
The show barely covers the "couplings," and I don't really see what you'd find them so ridiculous about them, unless it really bothers you that they're mixed-race.
Dp. It's not that they're mixed raced. It's the overstating of colorblindness in the form of every couple is mixed. It is heavy handed and pointless.
Agree completely. It's like the producers are saying, "Look! We're so colorblind, and we're going to make sure our audience knows it!" The couples just didn't make any sense. It's not like there was any real chemistry or attraction - they were just thrown together.
So weird that you are bothered by this. I didn't even think twice about it.
Why is it weird that anyone would be bothered by people that have nothing in common, had zero attraction for each other, and are now all of a sudden thrown together as couples? You really want this to be about race, don't you?
Um the premise of the show is that there is an apocalypse. And so people group together with other living people. Not just other people of their race.
People hook up and do it. There are only so many main characters. Do you think Rick was going to start banging Carol?
Why do you think they have zero attraction? I actually thought Michonne/Rick was well led up to with her relationship with both Rick and Carl. And they were kind of warrior equals.
