Not strange. It's a faux pas when a WOC does it but is totally okey-dokey for a posh white princess.
I'm a person of color here and I'm sensitive to these things, but Meghan's hair was messier (looked unintentional even though I'm sure it was carefully styled that way), whereas Beatrice had two perfectly symmetric curly wisps that they surely agonized over.
I agree with the last poster.
Meghan's hair looked more "easy" and I think it was deliberate (didn't Harry say he loved that she looked like herself on her wedding?)
Eugenia's hair looked like it was slicked, styled and shaped, and like you said, as if they agonized on the perfect whisp of hair.
I like really slick and styled bridal hair and think Eugenia's hairstyle was better, especially considering the wind today vs Meghan's calm, perfect weather.
I also think that because Meghan is so naturally beautiful, she did not need her hair to be coiffed to the degree Eugenia's was. Eugenia is often the butt of fashion jokes. Her hair had to be perfect on her wedding.
It is not a woman of color vs white woman thing. It is a drop dead gorgeous woman vs average on a good day woman thing.
Eugenia is breathtaking today. Good for her.
