For the smart ass who laughed at "smudging," I do it all the time when I have been in contact with negative energy and this was also something done by American Indians. I smudge around myself whenever I feel angry with someone else or with myself. It works because the negative energy I am feeling or transmitting dissapates.
Don't laugh or scoff at practices because there is so much we don't know.
Can you explain how you do this? I am interested (seriously). I have a lot of negative energy around me right now and could use a lift. Thanks in advance.
NO. 1--OP and anyone else who feels the presence of an unknown entity, simply say,
"If you are from the Light, You are welcome. If not, you are not welcome and LEAVE IMMEDIATELY!"
Back to question re Smudge sticks. These are made up of various herbs, straw, etc., and you can prchase them from Whole Foods or go online.
The Smudge sticks are tied together and you light one end so that it is smoldering and you see the red embers and smoke. I go around the house, or wherever you feel negative energy, and say whatever comes to mind--I say something like, "All negative energy has gone up in smoke and into the ethers and I am free from all anger, anxiety, frustration, etc." Then I run it around my body and pay special attention to head, neck, and heart chakras because that is where my negative energy seems to stay. There are body chakras and I also cleanse these areas, as well. When finished, I also say "Thank you, Spirit, that I am free from all emotions that may harm me."
You can say whatever you wish, but do give thanks. Also, I sometimes (like yesterday, when I felt as though I was enveloped in a black cloud) I let the smudge stick simmer for about ten minutes and meditated. It worked and a situation that was not good ended with peace and goodwill. When putting out the smudge stick, you can sprinkle it with water or put it out by stubbing out in a cup or dish.
I don't question why this works, I only know that it does. Peace to you.
