Subject: Feedback on Next Level Lacrosse?
Read the posts above. No one says Dave and Boh are not good guys. The real issue is that Boh is not a very good coach. He shuts down during games instead of leading his team.

Lacrosse parents are the worst. Dave and Boh are good guys. Ive seen them in many practices and many games and they are best coaches we’ve come across. Parents complain about every single coach for no good reason.

Of course, a lot of this comes from parents. I see kids (and parents) from all the lacrosse programs, disrespecting coaches and officials. If we teach our children to be respectful, then coaches are able to coach, rather than babysit.

The 10 and 11 yo had practices that were not rigorous?

I saw a game where one of Boh's youth players yelled an F bomb at an official. Didn't even take him out of the game.

I agree! Boh is a great guy but not a very good coach. There is a world of difference between the teams that Dave coaches versus the teams that Boh coaches.

My son has played for Boh since he came to Next Level. I have never witnessed the behavior that you describe. Boh is a stand-up guy, developing both lacrosse skills and character in his players.
I too have kids play on Boh’s team and he’s a wonderful coach.

NL had to try and buy players because they couldn't attract them the normal way by being good coaches. Dave can coach but lets be honest Boh acts like a spoiled little kid when his teams loses. I have a kid on an opposing team and saw him scream at his not even teenager kids telling them they suck. He should be taking responsibility. A real coach gets player to be better they had to go borrow Dads money to buy more talent. Those PG kids won't last more than a year driving to that program for coaching they could get in PG. Bethesda Program will always get the talent because they know how to coach.

I've seen no indication that current NL players were moved down. I do know of PG team players that were placed on the team but that could have been added due to attrition spots. To NL's credit they definitely didn't "steal" players. PG wanted the merger just as much I'm sure.

Next Level has changed as a program from being a local Bethesda Club that tried to develop local kids to trying to be Madlax. The whole reason they purchased Prince Georges Lacrosse Club was to steal their top players and make a magnet team that could compete with the Madlax teams locally. I for one think its a terrible mistake thay had a great thing going with a loyal following of folks in Bathesda, DC and Virginia with families that have money and were willing to pay for lessons. They blew that up just to try to compete with the best. Silly business decision IMO...time will tell but I think NL will regreat bringing in a bunch of kids from PG county to play on top teams the traffic is impossible to get the facility as it is can you imagine coming from Collge Park in rush hour???

Cabel is the only club owner who has a 2019 team with every single kid committed to a college... most high D1, many elite universities.

I really enjoyed that deadspin article when it came out, but that was five years ago. Is there any evidence that the Madlax guy continues to be abusive to players and families? If he's learned from his mistakes, I don't really think it's fair to keep holding his past sins against him.
Observe one game with him coaching and come to your own conclusion. It is embarrassing watching him coach grade school kids. But that could be said of many youth sports coaches. As for the article, that was hardly an isolated incident.
