The reason why I asked was based off of curiosity, nothing more. It sounds like a good program, but because the approach is vastly different than the traditional style of US clubs we are debating the merits. I'm just happy to know there are alternatives, it's great for the market place.
Yes. I know of a few first and second team players from top Clubs in DMV, and even some from DA Academy in the older groups, that joined FCB in the first wave last September. I think once people saw that these kids were happy and sticking around for the second year, it piqued their interest. It's still a very long drive for a lot of people though which can be a non-starter/deal breaker.
I also wonder what will happen when DC United is also out in Leesburg. Are all those DC United Academy kids from the MD/DC/Arl/Alex/Annandale areas really going to want to make the 4 nights per week all the way out to Leesburg? Or, are they going to basically be starting from ground zero.
Well, at least one high profile 06 DC United DA boys player has decided to play DA at Arlington since the commute is too far away.
How is this 11/12year old high profile? Is he Messi’s nephew?
Oh! Is he related to the orangutan?
I didn't think DC United's academy was moving next year? I thought it was the following year? I didn't think they had settled on the exact location in Loudoun. Anyone part of DCU Academy have info?
I wonder whose decision that change really was?

A kids from a DA Academy switched to FCB Escola? I guess its possible, a lot of people do things that make no sense to me. The only thing I can think of is maybe they didn't want all the travel and went to the other extreme, where you do pretty much zero travel over the year?
No way would my kid be happy just playing teammates the whole year. He likes the challenge of playing against different opponents.
Not happy with lack of playing time in DA, but still wanted quality coaching and possession based style of play.
