Not sure why this is even a question. Plenty of private school parents admit they apply in the very early years not because they "need" $45k pre-K but because the admission is harder later on.

If a student engages in bad behavior, then calling it out is suddenly "attacking a child"? Are we not allowed to criticize at all in situations like these?

PP, where are the "Facts" you reference? What you hear is true and what other hear is false? And do you really not see a difference between boosterism and denigrating a child? You seem the jealous one.

Indeed, they are more than related. All three schools are part of the same legal entity.

It’s very competitive to get into big three schools in DC. That is a very well-known fact. I’m sorry that your child did not get admitted to the school of your choice but instead of attacking Beauvoir, I would focus on what your next step is going to be and move on.

After several years at STA/NCS, my Beauvoir kid is getting all A’s without any outside help and with plenty of time left for time with friends and fun. Yeah, what a concession: some Beauvoir kids are not as smart as those kids who apply in 4th grade or 9th grade. That is to say that the ranking of students in 12 grade does not look like this - spots 1-35: Beauvoir kids, spots 36-85: everyone else.

The complaint here is that STA should make 4th grade entry a free for all and only let the smartest kids in. If you're going to make that complaint or cite some kind of stupid comment that sometimes Beauvoir kids are not as smart as a 4th grade applicant, then you need to complain about Sidwell, GDS and every other K-12 school who do the exact same thing. Don't you think these schools could turn over 65% of its class in 4th grade if it had to compare every current student with every applicant and only keep the 'smarter' one?

So, yes, if you want your kids to have a better chance of going to STA/NCS, send them to Beauvoir. Just like any other K-12 school.

I’m not sure that’s entirely accurate. All school populations are a bell curve intelligence-wise, so you’re going to get some kids who aren’t as bright as others in any given class at NCS/STA, GDS, and Sidwell.

However, I’d say that within the top 25th percentile, you are going to have kids who would match or beat most applicants coming in at 9th for smarts and achievement.
