The chances for 2018: 4% chance for PK3, virtually 0% for PK4 or K. Martin Austermuhle reported yesterday that there are 644 applicants vying for 25 PK3 slots.

It's also possible that (given the Montessori-style classrooms) they may be able to work with you to "make" an K space. But as the PP said, with a new principal and ED, it's hard to know.

If your PK3 child is admitted, your K child will move up the wait list, but remain behind anyone on the K wait list who has a sibling already attending, or is a newly admitted student who got in before you did.

Whether they admit anyone for K depends on how many people leave the school overall, and how they backfill. They are under pressure to take some at K now -- so they may take 2 or take more.

Keep in mind that there's a new interim ED and principal on staff now -- so how they've handled wait lists in the past may or may not be relevant.

We are 52 on the pk3 waitlist, which I gather gives us some chance of getting in. But I also applied for our K kid, who’s 176. What are the chances the K kid would be pulled in if the younger one makes it? Given that there are zero expected spots for K, I’m guessing none, but I’m not sure I understand this part.

I don't think they opened a new classroom last year, but they went into the 80's. Or did they?

They did open a new classroom last year at the Missouri Ave campus

I thought they did add a new one. but I am not keeping track that closely, so you could be just as right.

Actually this is a very weird little quirk of the lottery. The most desirable charters are packed with twins. Sometimes I think half my daughter's class has a twin in the other room.

You'll get in. Congrats!!!! In the past few years it has gotten to 50-80.

If you are 34 on the list then you are #9 on the waitlist. Because LAMB doesn't participate in common lottery there is generally a fair amount of movement. I would guess you'll get in, but not until late May/early June.
