For those who can't make it in.

TJ is the best high school in the country with no tuition!

It's like attending MIT for free.

Yes. Free tuition is the best part.

No, the best high school is the best part.

TJ serves a useful purpose since it quarantines some of the area’s most obnoxious parents and students. If these kids were at their base schools, there would be more cheating and back-stabbing.

I thought cheating and back stabbing, I meant socially skilled and well-rounded, was the way to get ahead in America.

As for college, this is a silly post.

I am the grade inflation poster. I was talking about the base school making it impossible to tell the difference between the top students. At TJ those save student will differ by .3-.4 on the GPA.

When you have a smart motivated student, it doesn’t matter if they go to TJ or stay in their home base school. They are going to do well and get into excellent colleges- going to TJ will not change anything. Students should go to TJ because they want the things that TJ offers that are not available at their home school.

Anecdotal: My second DC was one of those kids who chose to stay at his home school and a good friend from ES chose to go to TJ. They are both motivated smart boys. They ended up up at the same college and they were in 2 of 4 classes together (both were advanced classes because each had APs that skipped the freshman courses for math and physics). Both went to the correct HS for themselves. Both had great experiences. If you are lucky enough to have the choice, pick the school that best fits.

But gave them real education.

+1
TJ for the experience and education, not for college admission.

I see...going to a highly rated HS is of course the best , but going to a highly rated college is meh. Way to peak early.

You're full of hate. Let it go.

You are just embarrassing yourself here.

Hope your kid is enjoying his/hers Intensified Drooling class.

Look at how upset these TJ parents get when people don’t agree that TJ is the Almighty God. They resort to name calling and insults.

This thread reminds me of Groundhog day. Same arguments on each page.

My God you are full of shit. Elitism and quality in college is important and useful, but this is not true in high school.
