Either you will place as your authority God, the evidence for whom is clearly shown in the creation around us, and the knowledge of whom presented in the Bible, or you will place as your authority the knowledge of man who once stated as fact that the earth was flat, snake oil can cure disease, and currently, that humans evolved from an ape-like ancestor.
Anyway, this is a religion forum for those who believe in God. That you think this is fiction does not negate the truth that God does indeed exist. Your disbelief does not in any way negate the existence of God.

I am a Christian. And even though I believe a man named Jesus died on the cross and was resurrected three days later, I do not believe in eternal life. Sounds like a complete contradiction as the Bible states that if you do not believe in this, there is no reason for Christianity. But I look at Christianity as more of a foundation for how to live a life than prepare for the next one. I really don't see someday joining my father and sister in a different world family barbecue that also involves my grandparents. But who knows, maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised.

2000+ years does not seem "quickly" to us, but to God it has only been 2 days since Jesus died.
I wonder, since Jesus rose from the dead on the 3rd day, will Jesus return in 3 days, approximately 3,000 years after his death?
By the way, there is no "secret rapture" where Christians are spirited out of the earth before the tribulation.
Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.

Jesus returns after the sun and moon are darkened, not before. All those Christians with that sappy smirk on their faces thinking they will escape tribulation are in for a very rude awakening, so much so many will fall alway from the faith which results in the Man of Sin appearing:

Only If you believe the New Testament, written 2000 years ago, offers credible answers.

I often feel the presence of deceased loved ones, but am aware that the feeling is happening inside me, and does not indicate a reaching out from the grave.

As I've gotten older and have experienced the deaths of people close to me, I've become more open to the possibility that we can come back when our loved ones -- and even people whom we don't know but with whom we have some connection -- need us. My mom died 10 years ago and every once in a while I feel her presence -- always reassuring and loving. Before she died, she often spoke of having the same experience with her own mother.
