What Comey didn't understand is that when you sell yourself to the Clintons, they own you, utterly, without reservation. Comey balked. Comey was supposed to take all the heat, from Lynch, from Hilldog, from Obama, everyone. Comey was supposed to say "No crime, period." But after a rebellion in his own ranks, Wikileaks, the leaked tarmac meeting between Bill/Lynch, Weiner's arrest, he balked. He realized that he would go down in history as the most corrupt toady in the FBI's history. So he tried to play the middle. Too scared of the Clinton/Obama machine to do his job, too worried about his reputation to cover fully. In the end, that left him with zero allies on the Hill. Dead man walking.
