Plus a million. He's so sexy. Dammit.

Remarkable how much she can say without saying much. I'm calling a well-deserved Emmy nom for NK.
Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Didn't she say in the first episode the line of wealth was over/under 150k and they were under?
I think she was talking about just the mother's incomes , meaning that she makes under $150k, not that $150k is her & Ed's total HHI.

I see that Celeste would choose to be more understated but I find her wardrobe weirdly odd and/or too simple/frumpy. Certainly NK could pull off any look so this seems intentional. The rest of the female characters' wardrobes seem spot on.
I disagree. I don't think she's frumpy. Keep in mind that she has to cover her bruises, and that it gets chilly in Monterrey. Also, she may not want to show off her body too much as she knows how jealous/violent Perry gets.
NK is doing an amazing job.
Nicole Kidman is outstanding as Celeste. Her Emmy-winning performance tape will come from the therapist scene. But during the that scene, the only thing keeping me from being totally spellbound was my slight distraction from the dress she was wearing. And the coffee shop scene and the chokehold scene, she's wearing really big sweaters. Reese is wearing a cute dress w/ cardigan and Laura Dern is dressed as corporate queen. Jane is great with the no makeup army jacket look. Obviously I'm missing what wardrobe is doing with Celeste.

I thought the therapist scene was a little over the top. I even remarked to my wife: "Wow, they just had 8 breakthroughs in 5 minutes of therapy. That doesn't happen in the real world!"![]()

I get that the therapist scene is being used to push the plot forward (and establish probable cause/uncertainty for Celeste's husband as the killer....IDK if he actually is, didn't read the books or spoilers), but it was a bit hard for me to suspend disbelief in that scene.
+1
It's obvious to me that we're supposed to assume Perry is the killer since he is violent, but I think it's a red-herring for someone less obvious. I'm beginning to have my suspicions about what's going on, but don't know if I should share in this thread!
