I agree that too many avoid jury duty, but the duty is also very onerous in DC. Multiple levels of court, jurisdictions, grand juries etc. In Bethesda you get called what every 6 years? In DC yearly, easily.
That's because in DC, once you screen out those under criminal indictment annd ex-felons, the jury pool starts to get smaller -- certainly compared to MoCo.

Oh and, maybe tell the 10% of America who has 90% of the country's wealth - you are actually going to have to pay your fair share.

- he released thousands of drug dealers from prison. I wish I was joking about this. But I'm not.
The drug sentences are unreal; life sentences, for some (who were not actually dealing, etc)
On the other hand: sentences for violent crime:months or a few years, way too lenient in many jurisdictions.
It is a total disconnect: it's the violent crime offender they (and we) should be most worried about - no matter what the age.
They will offend again, more violently.
These plea deals are a shame. The slap on the hand is ludicrous, the worst criminal " justice" possible.

Poor analogy. People aren't growing cars or guns in their backyards or mixing up batches of cars or guns in their kitchens.
