Fill a cooler up 2/3rds full with hot water. Add 3-4 ounces of lavender oil. Put the helmet in chinstrap side up and hold the helmet submerged with a heavy kitchen pan weighing it down below the surface.

Leave it for a few hours, let it dry out overnight and you will have yourself a clean and (thank god) agreeable smelling helmet.

I do it mid summer with elbow pads & shoulder pads every year. Keeps them sanitary & keeps that "July stench" down.

Go on Amazon and purchase the detergent called Hex. I don't know about helmets, but we do throw our son's shoulder and elbow pads in the washer with the Hex. I love this detergent. I started using it for my own workout clothes. It is heavenly.

Thanks for both recs (and the suggestion re Target)!

I ordered it online from Target yesterday and it was delivered today. I bought two bags of pods, $8.99 ea., and the total with no shipping or tax charges was $19.01.

It doesn't say anything other than he played at Robinson High School.

Seems like a good hire. He's local? Which club did he play for?

Bobby Horsey is coaching lacrosse at Bullis. I am not sure if he is coaching middle school or upper school, but he is coaching.

Don't know Speaks, but his on-line bio seems strong. I've always thought that SJC lacrosse has been a team that has so much potential. Maybe this new coach can tap into that.

I believe SJC went internal. Will be interesting to see how long he lasts. 4 different head lacrosse coaches in a span of 5 years looks beyond terrible.

Have they named a new head coach at SJC since the debacle with Trig?

Doesn't shock me if he is not coaching. He didn't accomplish much at St. John's in the 2 seasons he was there and Landon's offense seems to be light years better than what it was when he was their offensive coordinator.

I meant to emphasize he is not coaching in addition to teaching. I knew he was a teacher. Maybe he wants to separate teaching from coaching and doing the coaching through Performance Sport Systems only.
