Then it hit me that some people do take DCUM posts seriously and I felt horrific. So I'm not trolling anymore (at least not on FA). I think FA is great. I got FA when I was a kid bc my family was flat broke - I don't need FA now and am very happy to pay for others who need it, just like people did for me back in the day.

So you steal.
Nope. To steal is to take something from someone without their knowledge or consent. I applied for FA, fully disclosed my income and responded to every single question asked of me. I did not lie. I did not hide assets. I did not under report or over report. My DC's school reviewed my application and made me an offer. I accepted. Just because I am not poor does not mean I do not have financial obligations that made me an acceptable candidate for financial aid. Like I said, you might want to take a look at that MEDIAN income chart and ask yourself exactly what does it mean to be poor before you start calling someone "poor" like its a bad word or a disgraceful thing. Check you rich (if you are even rich -- I doubt it) egotistical crap at the door.
OK, then you are poor. Own it.
You really think someone paying 15k instead of 40k tuition is poor? Get a grip.
We are paying about $25K and getting about $15K in FA. I wish it were only $15K. LOL.
Sorry, I am pp and was not referring to your situation in particular but more in general talking about fa recipients. According to Sidwell in 2015-2016, 23% of our students will receive financial aid support with an average aid award of $25,708, which covers two-thirds of the average tuition cost.

I would offer that some posters on this thread have achieved level [9]: a still even lesser level is when one gives reluctantly, preens about it, and then expects gratitude from the recipients - but only the ones that the giver deems less worthy.
+1 bingo! Love the list.
NP. This thread is bizarre. Do FA recipients really think so little of donors?
Why don't you ask the other way around?
It seems from this thread and others that donors in fact think very little of fa recipients.
I supposed you could say 'and vice-versa' but since the FA recipients are the ones depending upon the donors, I'd say it's the donors impressions you would be most concerned about. BTW, I think the vast majority of donors just want to see their donations well spent.
