It is also a symptom of most Madlax teams. When they hit HS, people start scattering. Some looking for greener pastures and others simply tired of playing for Madlax.

The other big issue is the dad coach has a son on the team and some parents are tired of the politics.

Also, if anyone watches how the coach behaves in the field (tirades at his players, opponents, and officials), they see the behavior as an embarrassment and just choose to disassociate with the organization. His behavior is reflective within all the teams belonging to the organization, not just his.

This is simply not true. Every coach is different. The new head coach for 2023 who also is an assistant at SJC is a quality coach. The old Club Blue 2023 coaches are very high caliber coaches. In the past teams have not always left in HS the 2017 team was one of the best in the nation. Kids do leave teams. Either they are better and want to play for a MD team like Hawks/Crabs or the do not play enough and may go to Blackwolf. The other post was accurate there are a few (not many) but a few openings on this team. All the other Capital teams including DC Dogs are set unless your son is a true standout player.

I've heard this from my son, but where are these kids going and why?

That is an interesting idea. I also wonder what the original poster ended up with? Here is an accurate review of this club based on where a player is:
Sophomore or Jr: These players should already know where they stand. Join Madlax if invited but most should stay with current club. Capital teams are good at these ages. If your son is not a Capital or A player, do not waste time on the mixed 2020-2022 DMV teams. Save money and sign up for showcases and camps on your own.
Freshman: Many kids are leaving the 2022 team so there could be a few openings. This is a good team.
8th grade: DC Dogs is one of the best (top 5 nationally) however this team formed after the former 2023 team collapsed. Buyer be ware this is a MD Club Blue team that runs a bit different from the other Madlax teams. They could be a good experience if your son can make the team. Do not waste time on the 2023/24 DMV team.
7th Grade: Capital team is one of the best in the nation but roster is large. If your son is a top player go for it. If not, be prepared to watch others play. Owner's kids are on this team and he coaches it. This is both good and bad depending on your son's skills. If he is a good player this will help in the long run.
5th and 6th grade: Madlax Capital if great the DMV teams not so much. If your son is not on the Capital team expect to play in lesser events. Better options in NOVA like Evergreen or VLC, CAV. In fact at 2026 I hear the VLC team is the top team.
4th grade an younger: Stick with NVYLL and wait on club. Unlike Maryland REC, NVYLL still is a great lacrosse experience. Those that think they will be Madlax for life starting in 2nd grade should look at the turnover on older teams. Madlax is a good club if it is right for your son. They do play a high level of lacrosse and provide exposure for those who want to play in college. It may not be the right fit for all. I hope this helps.

Yes, because he will be mad that you are no longer willingly giving him your money. But he has your credit card on file and you will have to fight with credit card company to stop Madlax from charging your card automatically months after you're gone.

That's why they call it "Madlax for Life".

Visa Prepaid Card.

Why doesn’t any of the victims contact the police or a law enforcement agency and report them for theft or fraud? He could go to jail or be hit with a significant fine. Maybe he would learn a lesson from that.

When you agree to a slot on the team you agree to pay for that entire season year. If your son quits you do not get to stop paying. It would be an interesting court case if someone did challenge it.

To be fair (and I realize a number of people posting on this thread have no inclination to be fair), the guy is running a business and like the prior posting noted, they tell people it is a season-long commitment. Lot's of people have had very good experiences with the club. Many of those who have not apparently come here to post and get lathered up behind their key boards. The investment in negativity is shortening your lives, people. Move on, and be happy!

Reading an earlier post on Madlax, a parent shared their son's team didn't practice, had a new coach showing up each week who didn't know the kids names and positions for games/tournaments - not as advertised. While you have good suggestion to move on and be happy, maybe you can look at this like an Amazon review where folks take the time to provide their candid feedback on a product or service so prospective consumers know what they will be getting vs marketing and will likelier more happy in making an informed decision.
