From what I understood the baby was there max for about 6 weeks, depending on when in March they started daycare. Very possible that there was nothing at the appointment.

Why was there a mistrial the first go around?

Evidence mishandled? Perjured witness?

What I still don't understand is how the parents failed to see that the child was abused. I mean, she sustained “dozens and dozens of injuries literally from her head to her feet”.. I am guessing it's not a one time thing that resulted in her death. I am puzzled.

The caretaker was so fed up with Millie crying all the time, but it was probably bc the poor little thing had broken bones and bruising.

Not only that, a male daycare provider with no other kids in his care besides his own infant. It just makes abuse and/or neglect that much easier to get away with. It's obvious the poor little girl was just a cash cow for him.

I was at the victim's funeral and know her mother. It's just heartbreaking. So glad he was convicted, but that pain and agony is forever.

I had followed this story from the day his picture was in the Washington Post 2 years ago. I remember opening the paper and seeing his picture and being overcome as he was the co-teacher in my child's daycare class when my child was 3. I know families who had him take care of their kids afterschool, baby sit etc.

As a parent you assume that the vetting process is adequate to keep your children safe.

I'm so glad he was finally convicted! This story has haunted me since I first heard about it 2 years ago.

This is the reason that many women quit the workforce. This is ridiculous. These guys should be hanged.

This story is so so heartbreaking. It has been haunting me ever since reading the latest in WaPo yesterday. As much as we do to try and shield and protect our babies, we can't always account for every single bad actor out there in the world. Ugh. It just makes me so sick.
