For those accepted, the acceptance letter was a little unclear about whether transportation is provided to the center. The letter say transportation is only provided within the program boundary. Does this mean transportation only if you are in the school's boundary. If anyone understood that paragraph better any guidance would be appreciated. I know AAP transportation was one of the things in the budget chopping block. TIA

Hello,

Our school has a strong AAP program, but half the kids admitted go to center. The kids that go to center are all provided bus transportation.

No CogAT?

My child had a similar WISC and a lower NNAT, but a decent CogAT and was admitted. I don't have the GBRS, but I suspect it was decent because they teacher told us she thought we should refer.

Cogat is lower.

NNAT: 115
Cogat: 120
GBRS: 10

Is WISC-V score correlated to Cogat? Is there a threshold WISC-V score to make it worth an appeal?

I am also in same dilemma. Although I have GBRS 12. You can take WISC IV

Wow, after reading the other referral scores/GBRS I don't get why your child was not accepted. 14 is an excellent GBRS, which means the teacher thought he/she belonged in the program. The scores were borderline, while other scores that made it where much lower. I'm sorry PP, it sucks that you will have to pay all this money for a WISC. I wish your little one luck in the referral process!

I think the scores were accurate
she is a good reader and writer

I asked the teacher if she would be a good fit for AAP, she said yes, so we referred

no wisc done
no extra samples or recommendations
I did the questionnaire

I was not planning appeal, because she is at a very good base school

I am assuming stellar gbrs. she is a good student and attentive. But she has not been pulled for anything level II that I know of.

go figure.

I will probably have her stay at local level IV and if the math gets too hard, pull her into regular math.

This is our child as well.

Our letter included the bus stop information.

So did ours.
