P.S. For pre-school we went to Bridges. It was a challenge to park some days, but completely worth it for a great school.

Shouldnt you have Miner on your least at least as #12? its the only one you get preference on. You actually could get shut out

Have you done the drive to Shepard and CMI from your house?


Would it be a problem for you to get shut out? I don't see any safeties on that list. Might want to replace one of the schools that never has OOB spots (Brent, Maury, Ross) with Miner, so you can be sure of getting in somewhere.

MV does have a drop off lane in front of the school. It is also a convenient location for bus commuters as there is a bus stop for several popular routes just a block away. When I take the 92 bus with my kids it is packed with MV tshirts. I walk to work from there (30 min to the Verizon center).

That's correct, if it's your number #1 choice, you should put it first. The problem with putting IB last is that if you get into ANY school above it, you will be dropped from the IB waitlist, so your chance of going to the IB school will be zero.

There is no game here folks, put the schools in the order of your preference. If you want an IB school or OOB or charter "safety" that you want to put as 11 or 12 to keep something possible, that's fine. But those should truly be your last choices if you number them 11 or 12.


Yup. I remember being advised repeatedly last year to put MV first and my IB lower down, and I realized that if I got a great lottery number and got into MV I would weep about the commute and the loss of a chance to go to my IB. So I ended up putting relatively unpopular schools high up.

Why are you putting Ross on at all? If you're out of bounds you're not getting in.



Better question is why put Ross in, because it has no future beyond 5th? Even the better schools (like Brent) leave by 4th to get into a decent MS. Ross is a dead end, thus a waste of time.

We have heard of major challenges this year and the last two years. Obviously with behavior as well as all around culture. I heard two teachers left mid year as well.
