The new Powell principal is African-American.
And she knows DCPS, as she was in the system as a teacher and AP.
And?
That makes her a native English speaker.

Here's her bio from Center City PCS:

Additionally, she participated as a curriculum writer/developer for DCPS on the Common Core Alignment. A North Carolina Native, Ms. Lyons-Lucas received her Bachelor of Arts in English from North Carolina State University, and a Masters of Arts in Teaching from American University. She is a member of Cohort 12 for New Leaders for New Schools, and is currently working on a second master’s degree from Trinity University. Nothing negative jumping out at me there. Any Powell folks want to chime in?

I'm almost certain people are afraid to share now. Lol!
I think so. Parents aren't happy. Google is always an option.
Why are parents unhappy w/o even knowing her bio?
A Google search shows she's coming from Center City where she served as a principal for a year. She has 7 years of teaching experience in DC, served as AP and is a graduate of New Leaders Cohort 12.
