Q. for you and others who responded similarly: do you regret the choice of your kids rather because he did not change the way you expected him to when you married him? Put another way, did the man fail to grow up or assume the proper role as father as he should?
Why the regret, exactly?
I answered similarly, except that I'm the DH. I've always been attracted to brooding types with a sarcastic sense of humor. Turns out those qualities aren't very attractive in a spouse and parent.

I have 3 unruly terrible teenagers.
I would definitely have kids again. Just not these same ones

Me too. Old DC Mom. Lots of education and only one kid. She is wonderful and we wish we could have another one, but it wasn't in the cards. Gotta keep the one we have healthy and happy.
Me three.

Anonymous wrote:Would I do it over again? No. It's a ton of work and I would honestly rather be able to spend the time I spend on my kids, furthering my career, travelling and going to the spa. I'd like to leave my house by walking out the door and to my car with out either a) a babysitter or b) herding my children to said car.
However, I imagine in the years to come, my opinion will change. Parenting gets easier and more rewarding the older they get. (I have twin 5 year old kindergartners) I enjoy it so much more now than I did even a year ago.

Yes. I would do it again. It isn't easy and I do occasionally envy the freedom of my younger self, but I wouldn't trade it in at all. These two complete me.
