i don't think kids would have to change schools would they? midstream? i don't think that is likely anyhow.

I am a very active parent at Hearst with kids in a couple of different classes. I personally don't know of have heard of any families who are suspected of living in MD. There may be a few (as there may be in any given DC school) however, certainly not on the level asserted on these boards. I do know of several kids with grands and aunts/uncles in MD who do pick up and drop off-- including mine. The person perpetuating this residency fraud issue is not a Hearst parent. They are apparently someone from the neighborhood who has a thorn in their a** over our OOB population.

As for the Janney parent that doesn't want her children at Hearst because of its OOB population... that's fine. We hope you're able to stay where you are.

Hearst families are proud of our little school. Our community is made up of incredibly committed IB and OOB families who appreciate the school's diversity and who work hard to create the best educational environment for all of our children--just like Janney parents.
